SEOUL, June 17 (Yonhap) -- Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, announced on Thursday that the “2022 Jeonju Cultural Heritage Night Tour,” a midnight cultural experience event, will be held from the June 17 to 18 in the Gyeonggijeon Hall (Gyeonggijeon Shrine was erected in 1410 and holds the portrait of King Tae-jo, the founder of the Joseon dynasty) of the Hanok Village.

This year's event, with the theme of “Walking through the Gyeonggi Exhibition of Healing,” will be featuring 31 programs, including listening to Korean traditional instrument, tea ceremony and dance, commentary on the history of Jeolla Gamyeong (a headquarter of the provincial governor) from an observer, and a photo exhibition of tangible cultural properties in Jeonju.

This year, the festival space will be expanded to the wedding street near the Hanok Village, and events such as historical tours will be held.

The online program also runs a hanbok contest and discovers authentic hanbok products.

Seo Bae-won, director of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "We prepared the festival with participation events with the theme of relaxation and healing."
