SEOUL, May 23 (Yonhap) -- President Yoon Suk-yeol and First lady Kim Kun-hee have attended the KBS “Open Concert” held on the outdoor stage of Cheong Wa Dae, on the evening of the 22nd.

President Yoon wore a blue stripe shirt, white jacket, and gray pants, and First Lady Kim wore a yellow checkered coat and black pants.

In particular, Kim had a half-up half-down hairstyle instead of an updo hairstyle she did while meeting President Joe Biden in the National Museum of Korea the previous day.

People Power Party’s floor leader Kweon Seong-dong, who played a key role in the relocation of the presidential office to Yongsan, his wife, and member Yoon Han-hong and his wife also sat in the nearby audience.

As the spotlight shone at the end of the live program, President Yoon and his wife stood up for a moment at the request of the host who approached them and bowed to the audience.

After Kim sat down without a word, President Yoon grabbed the microphone and said, “My fellow citizens, I’m so happy to listen to such beautiful music on such a wonderful night in May."

Yoon added, “I’m a fan of the open concert, and my wife and I went to see it at the KBS studio in the past.”

President Yoon said, “Cheong Wa Dae's space is a very well-established park and a cultural asset," adding, "More than anything, it belongs to the people," and the crowd applauded.

In the afternoon of the same day, President Yoon said his farewell to President Biden who was leaving for Tokyo, Japan and returned to Seoul to take care of pending issues before watching a concert with Kim.

After the concert ended, the president said goodbye to the nearby audience and left. When an audience shouted for a handshake, Yoon turned his head and held out his hand. Kim followed Yoon about a step back.

To say his greetings to the concert’s cast, Yoon took the stage for a moment and said to singer Insooni, “Your music has power.”

The concert was prepared to commemorate the success of the opening of Cheong Wa Dae, which began after Yoon’s inauguration on the 10th.

The opening of Cheong Wa Dae and the relocation of the presidential office was one of Yoon’s election promises and a total of 377,888 citizens have visited the presidential compound over the past 13 days, said the Office of the President.
