SEOUL, Sept. 6 (Yonhap) -- "Dad always told me to become Audrey Hepburn. I promised to continue works of sharing, sponsoring, and volunteering even tens of years after."

Singer and actress Choi Soo-young mentioned actress Audrey Hepburn who is deeply engraved in people's hearts not only for her great acting but also for volunteering works when asked how she pictures herself in the future during the interview with Yonhap News Agency at a studio in Seoul few days before the social Welfare Day, Sept. 7.

Choi Soo-young, who became a "sharing ambassador" of the Korea Social Welfare Council in last July, said, "I thought this was the chance to spread happiness of sharing" behind the reason why she accepted to be an ambassador.

The actress is known for doing lots of donation and volunteering works.

She has been donating for Hereditary Retinal Disease Research as the ambassador of Korean Foundation Fighting Blindness since 2012, and gave a lecture about improving the awareness of disability as one-day teacher to middle schoolars as the ambassador of Ministry of Education's disability awareness campaign.

She talked about the time when she sponsored surgery fee for a patient with heart disease after playing a role who received a heart transplant in a drama "My Spring Days" in 2014 regarding the question what her most memorable sharing experience was.

"I was proud when his mother thanked me after his surgery."

The actress suggested others to think of sharing as "taking care of those around us" rather than something difficult or grandiose.

She said, "Sharing things we don't use can be the start," adding, "How about taking care of those around us first and then of those who we are not aware of." She also said that is what she also have been trying to do.

Choi Soo-young, also the member of Girl's Generation, said, "It is not for everyone to help someone at the scene" to those who volunteer for neighbors in need for the Social Welfare Day, adding, "Volunteers who think of others first are truly amazing."
