SEOUL, Apr. 1 (Yonhap) – South Korea’s Son Heung-min(30, Tottenham), who plays as a forward for Primer League, has secured the fans’ vote for Goal of the Month for the second successive month.

Tottenham has announced through its website on Mar. 31(KST) that Son’s first strike against West Ham, which was also the second goal of the team, was selected as the “March’s Goal of the Month.”

Son has also been awarded the “Tottenham’s Goal of the Month” in February by netting the goal against Leeds United.

Sonny scored twice in the 3-1 victory at home against West Ham on Mar. 21.

After the West Ham defender Kurt Zouma guided Kane's cross into his own net under pressure from Son in the ninth minute, Son collected an inch-perfect pass from his “best friend” Harry Kane before firing into the top corner after 24 minutes.

According to Tottenham, this goal secured 31.6% of the vote, ranking the highest.

It is followed by Alfie Devine’s wonderful solo effort for the Under-23s against Arsenal with 28.3% of the vote.

In the 43rd minute of the second half in the 2021-22 EPL Round 30 home match against West Ham, Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris’s goal kick was passed to Son with his head, and Sonny quickly broke through and put a right-footed shot into the post.

This goal secured 17.3% of the vote and ranked No. 3 on the chart as well.

Son, who returned to Tottenham after playing in the final qualifying round for World Cup Qatar 2022 in the South Korea national football team led by head coach Paulo Bento, is currently preparing for the Premier League home match against Newcastle United F.C., which will be held on Apr. 4 at 0:30 a.m.
