SEOUL, Apr. 20 (Yonhap) – K-pop girl group aespa’s first mini album “Savage” has won the main award in the User Experience(UX)-Packaging UX category at the Germany’s “2022 iF Design Award.”
The prestigious “iF Design Award” is an international design award introduced in Germany in 1954, and it is one of the three major design awards in the world, along with “IDEA Design Award” and Germany’s “Red Dot Design Award.”
The group’s album has received attention for its unique worldview where the avatars “ae” members perform together.
It allowed fans not only to listen to the music through CD, but also experience the virtual space “KWANGYA” by utilizing the application “SMTOWN AR.”
SM explained, “We developed the story of aespa’s unique worldview into the field of user experience.”
aespa has drawn attention with the worldview where the avatars of the members perform together when they debuted in November, 2020. The group’s first album “Savage” gained great popularity by ranking No. 1 on Korea’s major music charts.
