They are creating a genre of Korean music that combines the traditional and modern music to the Japanese audience.

They will be presenting songs in combine with the traditional Korean melodies and rhythms with Jazz by performing at Mr.Kelly's in Osaka on August 4 and Keystone Club Tokyo on August 6.

"Korean traditional music needs to collaborate with other genres in order to become a genre recognized all over the world, and this is an important step as much as preserving its tradition is important," said Min Young-chi from Osaka, through a phone call on Wednesday. "Shin Han Ak is a stage to check all these possibilities."

After majoring in Korean traditional music at Gugak National High School and Seoul National University, he excelled by winning the gold medal at the World Samulnori Competition with janggu (most representative drum in traditional Korean music), and was also the original member of Seulgidoong, the first fusion traditional music group, and "Puri," a percussion instrument group.

Born in Kyoto, Kim majored jazz piano at the University of Sydney, Australia.
