DP lawmakers file complaint against Yoon to police over alleged interfering in politics
SEOUL, Jan. 30 (Yonhap) -- Lawmakers from the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) filed a complaint Tuesday against President Yoon Suk Yeol and presidential chief of staff Lee Kwan-sup, accusing them of interfering in the affairs of the ruling People Power Party (PPP).
Reps. Seo Young-kyou, So Byung-chul and Kang Byung-won filed the complaint with the National Police Agency, accusing the two of violating the Public Official Election Act.
The DP has accused the presidential office of inappropriately interfering in politics, following reports that Lee met with PPP leader Han Dong-hoon to demand his resignation.
The demand came amid a clash between Yoon and Han over how to respond to allegations that first lady Kim Keon Hee received a luxury bag as a gift in 2022 and concerns about party nominations for the upcoming general elections in April.
