Yoon names 3rd deputy nat'l security adviser, chief of anti-corruption agency

SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) -- President Yoon Suk Yeol on Wednesday named his third deputy national security adviser and the chief of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission in a reshuffle that also replaced one presidential secretary and four vice ministers, his office said.

Wang Yun-jong, presidential secretary for economic security, was tapped to assume the newly established position of third deputy national security adviser, who will be tasked with overseeing economic security issues, presidential chief of staff Lee Kwan-sup said during a press briefing.

Wang will be replaced by Ahn Se-hyun, a professor at the University of Seoul.

Yoon also named Yu Chul-hwan, a former judge at the Seoul Central District Court, as head of the anti-corruption agency, a ministerial position, Lee said.

Kang In-sun, who doubles as presidential secretary for international public relations and presidential spokesperson for foreign press, was named second vice foreign minister.

Yoon replaced all three vice ministers at the industry ministry: Second Vice Minister Kang Kyung-sung was promoted to first vice minister, ministry spokesperson Choe Nam-ho was named second vice minister, and Cheong In-kyo, head of the Korean Security Agency of Trade and Industry, was named minister for trade.
