SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is making a long-awaited comeback as a full group with the release of their new digital single "JUMP" at 1 p.m. Friday, their agency YG Entertainment said.

"JUMP" marks BLACKPINK’s first group release in nearly two years and ten months since their second full-length album "BORN PINK" in September 2022, excluding the game original soundtrack "The Girls."

The new song features a powerful, addictive beat in the chorus and showcases a bold transformation in musical style, departing from the group’s signature charismatic sound. With a Western movie-inspired guitar riff layered beneath each member’s distinct vocals, the track offers a fresh sonic experience.

"JUMP" was produced by longtime BLACKPINK collaborators Teddy and 24, along with international songwriters and producers.

“BLACKPINK’s daring genre shift broadens their musical spectrum and brings a refreshing twist to their discography,” YG Entertainment said.

The music video for "JUMP" was directed by Grammy Award-winning filmmaker Dave Meyers, known for his work on the Best Music Video category. It features bold visuals, playful storytelling, and striking cinematic scenes.

“This will be a chance to witness the perfect synergy of all four BLACKPINK members coming together after 2 years and 10 months,” YG added. “The music video captures the group’s narrative and influence through powerful imagery, so we hope fans look forward to it.”

BLACKPINK first unveiled the performance of "JUMP" during their “DEADLINE” world tour kickoff held at Goyang Stadium on July 5–6. The group is set to continue their global tour across 31 shows in 16 major cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, Milan, London, and Bangkok.
